About Our Executive Board

Col. Tony Young - President

Native of Vero Beach, his family is among the pioneers. He is a graduate of Vero Beach High School Class of 72, Virginia Military Institute, College of William and Mary Class of 1986 and Class of 200 grad of Army War College. Tony is an Army medical officer, aviator and combat veteran. In 2006, he retired and returned home. Since returning home, he has helped shape Vero Beach through his positions on the Genealogical Society, Veterans Council, Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary Committee, City Council and mayor.

CPT Marc Richard - 1st Vice President

All around bon vivant and local to Vero since 2010. Born and raised in the town of Jay in the great state of Maine. Graduated from the UnitedStates Military Academy in  1980. Served as an Infantry Officer until1989, left the Army as a Captain. Graduatedfrom Infantry Officer Basic at Ft. Benning andArmor Officer Advance and Motor OfficerCourses at Ft. Knox. Completed the Air ForceSERE course – Colorado Springs, CO. Dutyassignments included 2/4 Infantry as aplatoon leader and S2 in Neu Ulm, Germany;G4 staff 1st Cav, Motor Officer 1/5 Cav, HHCCommander 1/5 Cav, Bradley InfantryCommander 1/5 Cav and S3 staff 1/5 Cav –Ft. Hood, TX. In the civilian sector I workedvarious manufacturing and supply chainpositions for Coca-Cola Bottling, PrecisionValve Corp, IBM and POP Supplies all in theHudson Valley / Westchester county region ofNew York. Married to my wife Christine (Chris)since February 1981, we have three grown daughters – Laura, Amanda and Carolyn all living in Florida. Member of the Knights of Columbus – St. John of the Cross Parish and currently Chairman of the Board for Feed The Lambs (free after school tutoring and all day seven week summer camp program).

LCDR Dale Content - 2nd Vice President

Commissioned through ROTC at Rice UniversityMay, 1960. Entered flight training in Pensacola, FL immediately and received his wings on October 1965.  Trained at Cecil field inJacksonville, FL in the A-4 Skyhawk andjoined VA 172 in April 1966. Deployed aboardUSS Franklin D. Roosevelt to the Gulf ofTonkin, SE Asia conducting strikes in NorthVietnam until January 1967. The squadronthen deployed aboard the FDR to theMediterranean sea for approximately 6months. Dale was transferred to VT-25 atBeeville, TX where he conducted advancetraining in the TF-9J and AF9-J Cougar. Dale was released to the Naval Reserve in December, 1969 and flew the F-8H Crusader until June 1973. He married his wife Dawn in July 1978. Dale spent 32 years as a pilot with Delta Airlines, retiring inFebruary, 2002. He and his wife are members of the Community Church of Vero.

CPT Roger Grubic- Treasurer

Roger is currently Treasurer of the Indian River Chapter of MOAA.  Before moving to Vero Beach in 2022, he previously served as a director and Treasurer of the Halifax MOAA Chapter in Ormond Beach, FL.  Roger’s military service after training at Ft. Benning and Ft Devens was with the Army Security Agency in Panama during the Panamanian riots in the mid 1960s.  He separated from the Army as a Captain.

Roger is a graduate in Electrical Engineering  from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.  He also has a Master’s in Business Administration from Villanova University.  

Roger retired from Lockheed Martin as a Program Director where he led the spacecraft production of the USAF weather satellite program (DMSP) and the NASA Spitzer Space Telescope.  Before that he was the system engineering lead with GE Aerospace (later part of Lockheed Martin) for the  Air Force’s Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) program. After joining GE, he led the Landsat 4/5 ground operations development and test program for NASA.  Roger started his engineering career with Bell Laboratories in the anti-missile defense program responsible for testing and development of missile guidance hardware.

Roger is married to Maggie and has four children by his first wife Janice (deceased): Dr. Adrianne Grubic with her degree from U of Texas and working for Apple, Dr. Royce Grubic with his degree from USC and an adjunct professor at Western New Mexico University;  James Grubic a technology supervisor  in the Eugene, OR public schools; and Brock Eppinger a project manager in Maryland.

Kim Palazzolo - Secretary

Kim  has a deep family connection to the millitary. Her father is a Vietnam Era Air Force Veteran and her husband, John Palazzolo, is a United States Military Academy graduate and served in the Army as a tanker until 1994. She also has several other family and friends that served and are still serving connecting her in some way to almost every branch. Originally from Long Island, NY; became a Vero resident about 8 years ago moving here from south FL. She is also a member and has served on the board of Next Generation Veterans of IRC. In addition to her commitment to the local Veteran community, she is a local real estate agent.

MAJ Terry Treat - Immediate Past President

1Lt John Palazzolo - Chaplain

Born and raised in Queens, NY, John began his military service at USMA. He graduated from West Point in 1990 and served as an Armor officer on the  M1A1 tanks in Baumholder, Germany. He became a Florida resident in 1994 joining his family in S. Florida. He met his wife, Kim, while starting his civilian career and they have been together since. He has two daughters, Angeleigh and Giovanna.
